The BOC is mandated to dispose of seized and abandoned goods through public auction, negotiated sale, or donation, as per the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) and relevant customs laws.

Nepomuceno emphasized the agency’s commitment to transparency and accountability in all cargo disposal activities.

The BOC affirmed its commitment to accountability and efficiency in all cargo disposal activities, ensuring that government resources are optimized for the benefit of the Filipino people.

“With this, the agency continues to strengthen its efforts in protecting government revenues and facilitating legitimate trade,” he added.
