The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said it is extending legal aid to a Filipina domestic worker in Kuwait who faces a death sentence for allegedly killing her employer’s 18-month-old child.
In a statement, the DMW assured that the government will provide full support and legal defense for the worker.

Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said lawyers are assessing the worker’s mental state at the time of the incident.
“The case is currently under prosecution in Kuwait, and the DMW is closely monitoring the situation,” Cacdac added.
The Filipina allegedly placed the child in a washing machine, resulting in death. Her defense team is investigating her mental health as part of the case strategy. Vito Barcelo
