“Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” former housemate Shuvee Etrata issued a public apology and statement of support for the Filipino people, acknowledging past remarks that she said caused disappointment and hurt.
On Tuesday, Sept. 22, Shuvee posted on her social media account to address her past video going viral online since Monday. The clip showed her expressing her opinions on politics.
In a statement, she opened with gratitude for the support she has received but admitted she is still learning from the challenges of public life.
“Kaya pasensya na po sa lahat ng na-disappoint at nasaktan ko. I understand that what I said in the past caused hurt to some and I take responsibility for it,” said Shuvee.
She then explained that she often avoided speaking about politics because of its divisive nature but stressed that the fight against corruption has become even more important today.
“Ang mas mahalaga sa akin ngayon ay ang mahalin ang bayan at manindigan laban sa sumisira nito tulad ng korapsyon. Lalo na po ngayon,” she added.
She assured supporters that she will continue to learn and grow.
“Huwag po kayong mag-alala, natuto na po ako,” Shuvee stated.
Shuvee concluded her statement by expressing love for the country and its people.
“Mahal ko po kayo at mahal ko ang Pilipinas lalo na sa panahon ngayon. I stand for and with the Filipino people—always,” she ended.
