“The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the State of Qatar urges all Filipino nationals to remain calm, monitor news from credible sources, and heed the advice of local authorities,” the advisory reads.

“Stay indoors and avoid public spaces unless absolutely necessary,” it added.

Meanwhile, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) stated that no Filipinos were directly affected by the airstrikes.

“The embassy continues to check on our kababayans,” it said in a statement.

On Tuesday, Israel launched an attack targeting Hamas leaders, expanding its military actions that have ranged across the Middle East to include the Gulf Arab state, where the Palestinian Islamist group has long had its political base.

Qatar condemned the attack, calling it “cowardly” and a “flagrant violation of international law”.

In 2012, Qatar facilitated indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel, serving as a mediator along with the US and Egypt.
