A Columbian team that looked into the Philippines’ peace-building initiatives wrapped up its mission last Aug. 8, highlighting the country’s role as a model for successful peace processes and post-conflict recovery.
The visit formed part of the First Peace building Learning Route under the South-South Cooperation initiative between the Philippines and Colombia.
The program, launched in Bogotá in November 2024, promotes knowledge-sharing among countries in the Global South on peace, governance, and development.
Led by Suang Caterine Moreno Gutiérrez of Colombia’s Agency for the Renewal of the Territories, the group included officials from Colombia’s peace implementation bodies, PROCASUR Corporation, and the International Organization for Migration.
