The Cultural Center of the Philippines illuminated its iconic façade in vibrant colors in August to commemorate three major events: Buwan ng Wikang Filipino (National Language Month), ASEAN Month, and National Heroes Day.
The visual spectacle transformed the CCP’s architectural masterpiece into a canvas of light, showcasing the rich tapestry of Filipino culture, the unity of the ASEAN region, and the heroic spirit of the nation. Each evening, the façade is bathed in a dynamic display of colors, patterns, and imagery that reflect the themes of language, culture, regional cooperation, and national pride.
“We are thrilled to celebrate these important occasions by lighting up the CCP façade. This is our way of honoring the Filipino language, fostering greater understanding and collaboration within the ASEAN community, and paying tribute to the heroes who have shaped our nation,” said CCP president Kaye Tinga.
The colors red, yellow, white, and blue take from the colors of the Philippine Flag and the ASEAN Flag. The WIKA in Baybayin text connotes the uniqueness of the Filipino writing system while emphasizing our own language.
The CCP Main Building light show will run until August 31, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, except Mondays.
