PNP warns of fake HPG operatives

The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) on Tuesday warned the public about a group falsely claiming to be an HPG civilian auxiliary organization.

In a press briefing held at HPG Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City, Lt. Nadame Malang, spokesperson of PNP-HPG, said that they received information from concerned citizens regarding the illegal activities of a group called Highway Patrol Group – Force Multipliers Incorporated (HPGFMI).

The impostors falsely claim that they were tasked by the PNP to operate in the CALABARZON Region, she said.

The HPG official also said that the HPG director, Brig. Gen. William Segun already confronted one of the officials of the group, warning of legal consequences if they continued to masquerade as lawmen.

Moreover, Malang urged members of the public that should HPGFMI members approach them claiming to be HPG operatives, they should immediately report the incident to the nearest police station.
