President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. led a ceremonial distribution of ambulances provided by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) for the Eastern Visayas region during his visit in Ormoc City, Leyte on Monday, August 18, 2025.
A total of 124 ambulances were delivered to various cities and municipalities across the region particularly in the provinces of Biliran, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Samar, Southern Leyte, and Leyte.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles assisted President Marcos in turning over the symbolic vehicle keys to provincial government officials during the program.
According to the Presidential Communications Office, each ambulance is equipped with essential medical tools, including a stretcher, oxygen tank, blood pressure monitor, and other supplies for patients.
The activity was in line with President Marcos’ directives to PCSO to provide each of the country’s 149 cities and 1,493 municipalities with at least one ambulance to ensure timely and efficient emergency transportation services for people requiring immediate medical attention.
