David Archuleta to release memoir ‘Devout’ in February

American singer David Archuleta is set to release his memoir, Devout, on Feb. 17, 2026, detailing his journey from being a closeted teen to living openly as a queer man.

The American Idol alum recounts his struggle with faith, fame, and identity in the upcoming book, which he also described as addressing “emotional abuse and inner turmoil” dating back to his childhood.

Devout covers key moments in David’s life, including his rise to fame on American Idol, touring with Demi Lovato, a two-year mission in South America, three failed engagements, and a period marked by suicidal ideation. The memoir also discusses his decision to leave the church to live authentically.

“I feel like it’s an important message. Even if it’s some risky stuff to talk about, I think we need to talk about certain things,” David said in an interview.

The singer will be dropping his new EP, Earthly Delights, on Aug. 15 and is set to begin a tour on Sept. 17.
