Marcos, DICT launch eGov PH app for digital gov’t services

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday led the launch of the Bagong Pilipinas eGov PH Super App and the eGov PH Serbisyo Hub, vowing faster, more accessible, and corruption-free government services for Filipinos across the country.

Speaking at the Makabagong San Juan National Government Center, the President hailed the development as a “very important step” toward streamlining bureaucracy and bringing the Philippine government into the digital age.

“This is not just for San Juan or Metro Manila. This will reach every local government in the country,” Mr. Marcos said.

The eGov PH Super App is a centralized digital platform that enables users to access various government services online, including obtaining clearances and making payments. It complements the physical one-stop shop service hub, which houses key government offices in a single location.

President Marcos emphasized how the system will eliminate long queues, fixers, and red tape, common challenges faced by citizens dealing with government agencies.

“You line up for two hours in one office, then you transfer to the other side. It’s lacking again, you line up again. This is what we are fixing,” the president said.

“With the app and the hub, there will be no more corruption, no more fixers, no more lines,” he added.

The President also touted the government’s progress in digital identification, noting that 88 million Filipinos now have a digital national ID that can be used for eGov app services.

He urged the public to download and familiarize themselves with the app, especially those in far-flung areas with limited physical access to government offices.

“We made sure it’s simple enough that even non-techies can use it,” President Marcos said.

“If you have a phone and internet, you can do your transactions from home,” he added.

The event was attended by key officials, including DICT Secretary Henry Aguda and eGov PH project lead David Almirol, who developed the app.

President Marcos credited their work and revealed that the app has already been recognized internationally for its innovation.
