Global infrastructure leader ACCIONA has launched the ACCIONA Talent Hub – Philippines, a professional development program designed to cultivate the next generation of Filipino engineers and technical professionals.
The milestone marks the onboarding of the first cohort of 23 young Filipino engineers into the company’s long-term growth and innovation strategy.
It said the launch of the Talent Hub aligns with the Philippine government’s national agenda to strengthen Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education, recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as a key driver for inclusive development and global competitiveness.
“The Philippines has immense engineering talent. Through the Talent Hub, we are investing in that potential: providing world-class training to Filipino graduates and equipping them to lead the transformation of infrastructure not just here, but around the world,” said ACCIONA Southeast Asia managing director Ruben Camba.
The Talent Hub is designed to train and deploy outstanding civil and chemical engineering graduates from some of the Philippines’ top universities to key infrastructure projects across the country, with potential opportunities for global placement in ACCIONA’s international operations.
The program is structured into three key phases: a postgraduate course developed in partnership with the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the University of the Philippines, combining European and Southeast Asian academic expertise; rotational on-the-ground experience across major Philippine projects from railway transport construction to water treatment plants, including departments such as engineering, design, and project controls; and potential international exposure within ACCIONA’s global footprint, which spans over 40 countries.
“This initiative supports the country’s STEM education thrust and reflects our belief that Filipino professionals can play a central role in building a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient future,” Camba said.
ACCIONA’s projects around the world, from railways and bridges to desalination plants and solar farms, are built to address today’s most urgent needs: resilient infrastructure, clean water, mobility, renewable energy, and climate action.
Through the Talent Hub, ACCIONA aims to shape a new generation of engineers ready to lead critical infrastructure initiatives across Southeast Asia and beyond.
ACCIONA said that with the launch of the Talent Hub, it reinforces its commitment to building local capacity and empowering young professionals in the Philippines to become global leaders in infrastructure and sustainability.
