House Speaker Martin Romualdez formally took his oath of office as representative of the first district of Leyte before Court of Appeals Justice Bautista ‘Butch’ Corpin, Jr. in a ceremony held on Sunday afternoon, June 29, 2025 at the Price Mansion in Tacloban City.
Present as witnesses were his two sons Tingog party-list Rep. Andrew Julian Romualdez and Tacloban City Councilor Marty Romualdez, Jr. The elder Romualdez was re-elected with no opponents during the May 12 local elections. He received a total of 75,789 votes.
