A system check revealed that he was wanted by South Korean authorities for fraud, in violation of Article 47 (2) and Article 26 (1) of the National Sports Promotion Act.

The operation was initiated based on intelligence provided by the PNP Intelligence Group, which coordinated closely with the PNP Avsegroup and the Immigration bureau.

After identifying the suspect at the departure gate, authorities arrested him, ensuring that all legal procedures were followed. The suspect’s name and other information have been withheld, citing data privacy.

The suspect was informed of the charges against him and his constitutional rights in a language he understood. The entire process was documented using an Alternative Recording Device (ARD).

The foreigner is now in the custody of the Immigration for documentation and proper disposition.

“Airports are not safe havens for fugitives. This operation demonstrates the strong coordination between the PNP Intelligence Group, the Aviation Security Group, and our partner agencies in ensuring that fugitives are held accountable. We remain committed to safeguarding our borders and upholding international justice,” said Avsegroup Acting Director Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy.
