The National Security Council of the Philippines (NSC) recently met with Italian Ambassador Davide Giglio to discuss maritime security, counterterrorism and economic engagement.
National Security Adviser Eduardo Año and Giglio both committed to nations and regional stability. Their meeting happened last January 20, but was made public on Monday as posted on the NSC Facebook page.
“Their discussion focused on enhancing cooperation in maritime security, counterterrorism, and economic engagement, reflecting the shared commitment of both nations to regional stability,” the NSC said.
Giglio reaffirmed Italy’s dedication to strengthening its partnership with the Philippines, emphasizing collaboration on shared security challenges and fostering peace in the Indo-Pacific region.
Año expressed appreciation for Italy’s support and highlighted the importance of sustained dialogue in addressing mutual concerns.
The meeting underscored the value of international partnerships in promoting security and development, as the NSC continues to engage with global allies to advance shared objectives.
