College of St. Benilde seeks to inch closer to one of the two twice-to-beat Final Four incentives as it clashes with Letran on Friday in NCAA Season 100 at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.
The Blazers are unflappable at the helm with a 12-2 record and another win in their 2:30 p.m. showdown with the Knights would put it a win away from that important semis bonus.
If it couldn’t, CSB still has several chances to do so as it has three more foes on its plate after Letran—Mapua, San Beda and Lyceum of the Philippines University.
The Knights, though, are likewise going all out for a victory as it will catapult it to solo fourth from a share of it with the Emilio Aguinaldo Generals and the Lyceum of the Philippines Pirates on 7-8 cards.
Letran was coming off a 68-58 defeat to EAC last Oct. 30 and should bounce back strong on this one.
Same with LPU, which is tackling Jose Rizal at 12 noon.
The Pirates have pillaged their way back to the magic four after eliminating the San Sebastian Stags, 93-85, Wednesday.
LPU coach Gilbert Malabanan should rely anew on team captain Renz Villegas and John Barba, who led the onslaught last time by firing 25 and 20 points, respectively.
