Ex-VP Leni rallies Angat Buhay to help Tropical Storm “Kristine” victims in Naga

Former Vice President Leni Robredo mobilized her Angat Buhay Foundation to assist residents of Naga City affected by the onslaught of Typhoon Kristine.

According to Robredo, the non-government organization (NGO), launched in July 2022, deployed a large 10-wheeler truck loaded with donated items from its supporters.

“If there are boats that you can lend or relief goods you want to donate, please send them,” Robredo stated, referring to the Angat Buhay office in Quezon City.

Additionally, they distributed hot meals in the area on Tuesday evening to combat the cold weather.

Robredo also appealed to the public for pump boats, as some residents in Naga were stranded on their roofs due to flooding caused by Kristine.

She called for easy-to-eat food items for quick and convenient distribution.

Her NGO collaborated with other organizations, such as the Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership, which is responsible for managing monetary donations for those affected in Naga City.

In its latest situational report, the Office of Civil Defense indicated that nine areas in Naga City remained flooded.

Overall, 57 areas in Region 5 were flooded, impacting 379,784 individuals.

Robredo serves as the chairperson and president of the Angat Buhay Foundation.
