Calamba achieves SIPS status

The city government of Calamba in Laguna declared its Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) status achievement, coinciding with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing witnessed by Army Task Force Ugnay Executive Officer Major Michael Malacad.

According to the 202nd Infantry Brigade, the signing of the MOU signifies a pivotal step toward ensuring lasting peace and security within Calamba City.

“The collaboration between the Armed Forces of the Philippines, represented by Major Malacad, and local government units, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and Sangguniang Panglungsod, highlights the unified effort to combat the threat posed by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) and maintain public safety,” the brigade stated.

Additionally, the brigade emphasized that this event underscores the importance of continued cooperation among local authorities, the military, and the community in fostering a secure environment.

“The Declaration of SIPS Status is a testament to our collective dedication to peace and stability in Calamba City,” they added.

On October 15, the municipality of Pakil in Laguna also declared a SIPS Status, contributing to the foundation for the revalidation of SIPS status for the entire Province of Laguna.
