PH, US navies end Samasama 2024 exercise

The Philippine Navy, through the Naval Forces Northern Luzon (NFNL), and its counterparts from allied nations have formally concluded Exercise SAMASAMA 2024 in Subic Bay, Zambales. 

According to NFNL public affairs chief Ens. Cyrus Anthony Ramos, Exercise SAMASAMA 2024 gathered naval forces from multiple allied countries such as the United States Navy, the Royal Canadian Navy, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, the French Navy, and the Royal Australian Navy,

Ramos said the exercise also fostered collaboration and strengthening of partnerships in maritime security. 

Over the course of the exercise, participants engaged in a series of joint training activities, including simulated maritime operations, humanitarian assistance, and tactical drills designed to improve interoperability among the participating countries.

Exercise SAMASAMA 2024 also addressed evolving maritime security challenges by incorporating scenarios that reflect the latest maritime warfare and operational demands. 

"This Exercise highlights the Philippine Navy's steadfast commitment to collaborating closely with allied counterparts, strengthening mutual dedication to maintaining peace and security in the maritime domain." Ramos said.

The Philippine Navy, the US Navy, and other participating nations have strengthened regional cooperation and fostered enduring collaborative relationships to promote maritime security and stability, he added.
