The Comelec poll also listed 117 special action cases motu proprio to declare aspirants as nuisance candidates

Garcia said the petitions they received before the deadline of filing onOct.16, were all lodged against local post aspirants, with nothing filed at the national level.

“They are all for local, so far no one has not filed in the national level, maybe because they know that Comelec can declare them motu proprio in the national positions and maybe they know that at least when it is local, the opponents can file the petition,” Garcia said.

He vowed to resolve the cases involving nuisance candidates for the May 2025 midterm elections by the end of November this year.

“This is the crucial time for the election process, because we are eyeing to start printing ballots by December,” Garcia added.
