‘Big win!’ Gatchalian welcomes arrest of ‘Boss Boga’

The reported arrest of Lin Xunhan, also known as Lyu Dong or ‘Boss Boga,’ is a “big win” in our fight against the social ills brought by the now defunct Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), Senator Sherwin Gatchalian said on Friday.

Gatchalian congratulated the members of the Philippine Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) for their successful apprehension of Lin, who was identified as a key figure behind the operations of Lucky South 99, the POGO based in Porac, Pampanga.

“This is a major achievement, as Lin Xunhan was included in the search warrant executed last June 4 against Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga. He is a Chinese national who has been operating scam networks in the country for a long time under a false identity,” the senator said in a statement.

“This underscores the critical need for constant vigilance and monitoring of cross-border activities involving high-profile individuals. It is also vital to investigate the Filipino bodyguards and associates linked to Lin Xunhan,” he added.

Gatchalian, who is co-leading the Senate investigation on POGOs alongside Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros, noted that the arrest of Lin “fuels our optimism that we can cripple POGOs that continue to perpetrate criminalities, including widespread scams.”

“We are hopeful that there will be more Lin Xunhans, who will be arrested by authorities in the coming days,” he concluded.

Lin was arrested by PAOCC operatives on Thursday evening in Laguna.
