Letran showed resilience and toughness in the clutch as it outlasted University of Perpetual Help, 82-73, in triple overtime to seize solo No. 2 in NCAA Season 100 at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.

The Knights had all the answers to stay in the game and, when given a chance, took control in the third OT to snatch the win, their fifth in seven outings, that pushed them closer to the league-leading Mapua Cardinals, who own a 5-1 mark.

Vince Cuajao paced Letran with 19 points, including key buckets that mattered while Nat Montecilla drained key treys in the extra period that kept his team in the game and finished with 14 points.

It was a heartbreaking defeat for the Altas, whose top scorer Mark Gojo Cruz hurt his leg and couldn’t return into the game when his team needed it most, and fell to fourth with a 4-3 card.
