Philippine Navy hosts Command Conference on external security threat assessment

he Philippine Navy held its third Command Conference on Monday, focusing on the assessment of external security threats in alignment with the Active Archipelagic Defense Strategy (AADS) and reviewing the Naval Force Posture (NFP).

Key topics of discussion included capability development and strategic basing, which aim to build a stronger and more self-reliant Navy.

Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr., the Navy Flag Officer In Command, emphasized that these initiatives are crucial for securing the future of the Navy and the next generations of sailors and marines.

“These are the building blocks for a stronger future — ensuring that the coming decades are secured, and that future generations of sailors and marines are even more capable, resilient, and ready to lead with strength and purpose,” said Vice Adm. Adaci Jr.

Additionally, the Navy launched the latest version of the AADS along with a booklet detailing its role in the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept.

This booklet is designed to guide personnel in implementing the Navy’s strategic vision.

“This conference marks another significant step in the PN’s journey towards modernization and securing the Philippines’ maritime interests,” stated Navy Spokesperson Commander John Percie Alcos.
