Organizers of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) on Thursday unveiled the “Sine Sigla sa Singkwenta” mural along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) for its 50th Edition.
The mural features the hand-painted faces of big-screen movie icons over the past 50 years.
These actors and actresses include Dolphy, Eddie Garcia, Gloria Romero, Nora Aunor, Vilma Santos, Christopher De Leon, Maricel Soriano, Vic Sotto, Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Vice Ganda, Amy Austria, Joseph Estrada, Anthony Alonzo, and Fernando Poe Jr.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chief and MMFF Overall Concurrent Chairman Don Artes said the initiative aims to recognize the festival’s decadeslong contributions to the Philippine film industry and celebrate the evolution of MMFF films over the years.
“This mural stands as a reminder of the timeless stories that have captured the hearts of generations and will continue to inspire future ones. It also serves as a tribute to the filmmakers, actors, and artists who have helped shape the MMFF throughout the years,” Artes said.
In addition to the mural, hand-painted posters of past entries will adorn the walls along EDSA in partnership with iAcademy, an academic institution specializing in computing, business, and design.
