From vision to reality: New Lounge opens first international flagship store in LA

Have you ever had a vision that feels real? Well, in the case of homegrown beauty and wellness brand New Lounge CEO and founder Rachelle Bravo, having a vision was something that ignited her passion to build her own beauty and wellness spa.

In a recent event, Bravo sat down with Manila Standard to talk about the brand’s journey toward its success.

New Lounge began its journey when Bravo had a vision of herself overseeing a campaign shoot. 

“I was awake when I saw myself in a coffee shop with a black and white stool and a white marble table. Beside me is a pedestrian lane and [model] Jessica Yang was walking towards me. I realized we were shooting a campaign,” Bravo shared.

“Next clip in my vision, I saw the Rodeo Drive sign. From then on, I said, we’re going to have New Lounge Beverly Hills,” she continued.

True enough, as that one wellness spa in Las Piñas now has its international flagship store in Los Angeles—and yes, in Beverly Hills. From its humble beginnings to becoming a beauty industry powerhouse, New Lounge continues to make its name in the world of eyelash extensions.

“It still doesn’t make sense back then. During that time, we only had seven branches. And then there’s no means and, I mean, access for us to do it. And then, fast forward to 2021, we started pursuing the project. We got our company visa last year. Then, around September of 2023, I saw the coffee shop,” added Bravo.

Seeing that coffee shop gave her goosebumps. But seeing how her vision turned into a reality was something more special for Bravo.

In July, she opened her New Lounge Beverly Hills in Rodeo Collection, marking the branch as the first international flagship store of the brand. 

To celebrate this, the beauty and wellness spa hosted an after-party event on August 22, at the Electric Garden, where its celebrity ambassador Heart Evangelista graced the occasion.

Of course, Heart wouldn’t miss it for the world, as she was one of the first clients of New Lounge when it was new in the industry.

Heart booked for an emergency home service for an event the next day. Bravo revealed that the actress was amazed to discover their impeccable services. From then on, New Lounge would be her go-to place to get her eyelashes done.

During the event, Heart expressed her pride for New Lounge to finally have its international branch.

“This is not just your dream, but also mine because I knew you always wanted to have a Los Angeles branch. I’m so proud of New Lounge, and congratulations to everybody who helped in achieving this dream,” Heart stated.

When asked what New Lounge’s edge is from other beauty spas, Bravo said, “It’s our hospitality. Our pride is our talent and our tender love and care.”

On the other hand, the brand revealed its new logo, paying homage to its hero product, lashes, and symbolizing an ascent to a higher level of beauty, wellness, and excellence. This was then followed by the introduction of new and upgraded services to their menu.

The launch introduced an improved lash menu, featuring the new LA Exclusive Volume lash design that connects the US to the Philippines. This exclusive offering at the NEW Lounge creates a mascara-like effect, elongating and lifting the eyes to achieve a winged effect, perfectly embodying LA’s glamorous style. Additionally, the Icon Lashes will be expanded to the regular lounges, and a new lash curl option called V Curl, specially targeted for Asian lashes, was also announced.

Hair removal (waxing and threading) services in Sta. Rosa and Westgate, Alabang branches are now also available, further improving NEW Lounge’s footprint in the wellness scene. The brand also shared exciting news for the Aurora Nails, the first NEW Lounge exclusive nail offering—an expansion of color options from the standard silver base for a more personalized, unique design. 

“We are ecstatic to bring the celebration and huge success of the opening of our first international branch here in the Philippines. This is a milestone not only for NEW Lounge but also for the Filipino beauty and wellness industry in making an impact in the global scene. We’re beyond proud to showcase the Filipino talent to the world. This is indeed a Future Perfect ahead of us,” said Bravo.
