The Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) on Tuesday directed the Philippine National Police (PNP) to transfer Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy from its Custodial Center at Camp Crame to the Quezon City Jail being run by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
In a September 9 order newly released to the media, Branch 106 Judge Noel Parel told PNP Chief General Rommel Marbil that he “is hereby ordered to transfer and commit the two accused APOLLO C. QUIBOLOY and CRESENTE CANADA to the new Quezon City Jail-Payatas Road, Bagong Silangan, Quezon City…immediately upon receipt hereof.”
Additionally, the jail warden of the new Quezon City Jail-Payatas was directed to produce Quiboloy before the court on September 13 at 8:30 a.m. for their arraignment and pre-trial via videoconferencing hearing.
After their surrender and arrest in Davao City, Quiboloy and his companions were detained at the PNP headquarters for charges of child abuse and human trafficking filed with the lower courts of Davao City and Pasig City.
The Justice Department ordered the transfer of the Davao case to a Quezon City court.
