Chloe San Jose, girlfriend of Olympic gymnast Carlos Yulo, is gaining attention online following the bemedalled athlete’s successful performance at the Paris Olympics, where he claimed two historic gold medals for the Philippines.
Even before their return to the country, San Jose had been a trending topic, particularly as rumors about Yulo’s family issues were circulating. Online users speculated that San Jose was capitalizing on the attention to boost her chances of entering showbiz. These rumors even intensified when she made her return to the ASAP Natin ‘To stage on Sunday.
San Jose performed Camila Cabello’s hit “Havana” on the show, where she was featured as the “Woman of the Hour.” After her performance, she was interviewed by hosts Robi Domingo, Edward Barber, and Maymay Entrata. When asked about her career plans, she said, “I’m just so excited and happy to be here,” adding, “Let’s see what the future holds.”
This was not San Jose’s first time on the ASAP stage, as she previously performed Jireh Lim’s “Dahan” in 2019.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Manila Standard Entertainment at the launch of the new skincare line Real Perfection, San Jose denied rumors of signing with Viva Entertainment or pursuing a showbiz career.
“I don’t have any plans to enter showbiz. I’m happy creating content. As for the rumors about me joining a talent management agency, there’s no truth to that,” she clarified.
Asked what she enjoys most about content creation, San Jose emphasized the importance of authenticity.
“It’s my platform to showcase my authentic self,” she said, offering advice to aspiring creators: “Just be yourself, be authentic, and keep creating content.”
When asked whether Yulo influenced her decision not to pursue showbiz, San Jose said the decision was her own and that her boyfriend has been fully supportive.
“No, Caloy didn’t have anything to do with it. He’s very supportive,” she shared.
