The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is ready to assist and reinforce the Philippine National Police (PNP) with their manhunt for Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy if needed, a military official said on Sunday.
In an interview, AFP Spokesperson Colonel Margareth Padilla said the Armed Forces did not deploy any additional military forces outside of Davao City to augment the service of warrant issued for Quiboloy.
“Sa usapang ito, kasama po natin, humahalinhin tayo sa PNP on a supporting role po dito so sila po ang lead in these operations, yun pong role ng AFP kung ano po yung mamandate for us to assist them in any manner in the performance of their duty then we will abide po,” she explained.
“So nandyan po tayo to assist. hindi naman po tayo nagpadala ng additional troops from outside but yung mga troops natin na nasa Davao are ready to reinforce if need be po,” she added.
Still, the AFP augmentation will depend on its intricacies for them to reinforce.
“Depende kasi ano sa intricacies ng operations if kailangan po ng augmentation so side po ng AFP any agency po ano that needs the support of the AFP in terms of their operations nandyan po kami to join po and augment them,” Padilla assured.
