Marines get new defense vehicles

The Philippine Marine Corps’ 1st Marine Brigade on Wednesday received its new assets in Maguindanao del Norte designed to enhance and reinforce the unit’s proficiency in combined arms operations.

Intended for the newly deployed members of the 65th Force Reconnaissance Company, the assets arrived at Palloc Port in Parang, Maguindanao del Norte along with the Philippine Marines’ latest Armor, Artillery, and Patrol Craft assets.

The assets included two V150s, one V300 Fire Support Vehicle (FSV), three V300 Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs), two Small Unit Riverine Craft (SURCs), two 105mm howitzers, two 155mm howitzers, one Kia Light Tactical Vehicle (KLTV) and one Small Unmanned Aircraft System (SUAS).

“The arrival of these new and advanced military assets strengthens our ability to safeguard the security of the communities and maritime domains under our jurisdiction. This is our contribution to fulfilling the security requirements of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM),” said 1st Marine Brigade Commander Brigadier General Romulo Quemado. 

The handover event was graced by Major General Antonio G. Nafarrete, Commander of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division and Joint Task Force Central (JTFC), as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
