IT’s suffer time again at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) as the facility’s air-conditioning units appeared to be having technical problems.
However, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) tries to resolve the heated situation with at least three air-conditioners also called Chillers 1, 2, and 4 were emitting abnormally high temperatures.
As a precautionary measure to prevent potential major damage to the entire cooling system, the airport management was constrained to temporarily shut down the chillers to determine the cause of the problem.
Descaling, cleaning, and swabbing procedures were also conducted on the affected chillers to ensure optimal operational conditions.
To lessen the discomfort of plane passengers and service personnel, cooling fans have been strategically deployed in the affected areas of the terminal.
The MIAA said it understands that while the situation causes temporary inconvenience for passengers, employees, and all partners, it is “working diligently to resolve the issue as swiftly as possible.”
While troubleshooting activities are expected to be completed tomorrow morning, improved temperature levels may be anticipated by noontime.
