The China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China) and the Association for Philippines-China Understanding (APCU) have jointly organized a short video competition, which seeks to promote sustainable and clean energy use.
Dubbed “China-Philippines Gen Z Vision,” the short video competition was launched on Aug. 5 with the support of Global Times Online as a media partner and university partners, including the Confucius Institute at Angeles University Foundation, the Confucius Institute at the University of the Philippines Diliman, the Confucius Institute at Ateneo de Davao University, and the Confucius Institute at the Ateneo De Manila University.
The competition focuses on three themes: “Green Energy,” “Harmonious Ecology,” and “China-Philippine Exchanges.”
“It aims to encourage Generation Z in China and the Philippines to share their understanding of green living and their perspectives on the future of Sino-Philippine friendship. The goal is to inject youthful energy into the exchanges and mutual understanding between the two civilizations,” Energy China said in a news release.
University students, employees of Chinese and Philippine enterprises, and all young participants and witnesses of the China-Philippines friendship are invited to submit their videos online.
The videos should capture the convergence of civilizations and tell stories about a green future.
Participants should send their works to the designated email (videosubmission@huanqiu.com) before Sept. 30 and post the works on any overseas social media platforms (Facebook/Twitter/YouTube/TikTok) with the event hashtag #ChinaPhilippinesGenZVision.
The competition adopts an expert review mechanism and will select six regular prizes: one gold prize, two silver prizes, and three bronze prizes, as well as special prizes for best creativity, best story, most energetic, and best filmmaker awards.
The winner of the gold prize will bring home a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 or CNY3,499 (PHP28,311); the silver prize, Huawei Freebuds Pro 3 or CNY1,299; and the bronze prize, Western Digital hard drive or CNY518. Special awardees will get CNY249 or a Cat King Bluetooth speaker automatic record player B612.
