Actress Shaina Magdayao graced the 23rd New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) in a Filipiniana ensemble designed by fashion designer Iris Ceneta.
The actress wore a lavender modern Filipiniana top tied with a cream-colored ribbon, paired with a colorful skirt fashioned from reclaimed fabrics. A pair of beige Nicola heels from Erin PH and jewelry from Heart Factory Accessories completed Magdayao’s purely local look.
Serving as part of the jury for the film festival’s “Uncaged” competition, Magdayao joins notable figures in the Asian film industry such as Vietnamese-American filmmaker Tony Bui, Thai actor Chanon ‘Nonkul’ Santinatornkul, Screenworks Asia producer Shao-yi Chen, Golden Scene sales & acquisitions manager Felix Tsang, and Criterion Channel programming head Aliza Ma.
Magdayao has been representing the Philippines through her attendance at numerous prestigious film festivals abroad, such as the Cannes Film Festival, the Busan International Film Festival, and the Locarno Film Festival, among many others.
The New York Asian Film Festival serves as an event celebrating Asian cinema, where new and classic films by Asian filmmakers are featured through a variety of competitions and showcases. The NYAFF 2024 took place from July 12 until July 28.
