PBBM cool over Sara’s Cabinet snub

President Marcos said he respects Vice President Sara Duterte’s decision to not accept another Cabinet position after resigning from her roles as Education Secretary and National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) co-chairperson.

“That’s her decision,” Mr. Marcos said at the sidelines of financial distribution to farmers and fisherfolk in Apayao province.

In June, Duterte quit her Cabinet position but did not cite any reasons for her decision.

At the Department of Education (DepEd) turnover ceremony in Pasig City on Thursday, the Vice President said she will no longer accept any Cabinet posts under the Marcos administration.

The Vice President noted that she would rather “remain in her office in Mandaluyong” and attend to her official projects.

Duterte also said that she will stay out of the midterm polls, disclosing that she turned down requests from both the administration and her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, to support their respective candidates.

Mr. Marcos appointed erstwhile Senator Sonny Angara to replace Duterte at the helm of the DepEd.
