Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco speaks during the Philippine Tourism Satellite Accounts (PTSA) and Tourism Statistics Dissemination Forum at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City. The Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) is a globally recognized statistical framework used to measure the economic impact of tourism. The latest PTSA reveals that in 2023, the share of tourism direct gross value added (TDGVA) to the Philippine economy as measured by the gross domestic product (GDP), reached 8.6 percent. This equates to P2.09 trillion, a 47.9-percent increase from P1.41 trillion recorded in 2022, representing the highest growth in tourism since the data compilation began in 2000.
