More of the same personalities figure in 2025 senatorial race pre-election survey

An Ortigas-based political consultancy firm released its second quarter pre-election survey for potential candidates in the 2025 senatorial race, resulting in more of the same public personalities and politicians.

The 12 names that figured and their corresponding voter preference rating, based on the answers of 1,507 respondents in the PAHAYAG survey between June 15 to 19, according to PUBLiCUS Asia, Inc. include the following:

  1. Dr. Willie Ong (cardiologist/online health guru) – 39 percent
  2. Rep. Erwin Tulfo (ACT-CIS party-list) – 33 percent
  3. Rodrigo Duterte (former president) – 32 percent
  4. Panfilo Lacson (former senator) – 32 percent
  5. Vicente Sotto III (former senator) – 29 percent
  6. Christopher Lawrence Go (re-electionist) – 29 percent
  7. Francisco Domagoso (former mayor) – 29 percent
  8. Leni Robredo (former vice president) – 28 percent
  9. Imee Marcos (re-electionist) – 26 percent
  10. Francis Pangilinan (former senator) – 25 percent
  11. Gilberto Teodoro, Jr. (incumbent Defense Secretary) – 23 percent
  12. Pia Cayetano (re-electionist) – 23 percent

Re-electionionist Senator Ronald Dela Rosa reportedly slipped to 13th place with 22 percent. Next to him was human rights lawyer Jose Manuel ‘Chel’ Diokno at 21 percent. The results have a margin of error of +/- 3 percent.

Following the trend observed in previous PAHAYAG survey releases, incumbent senators have seen a decline in their approval ratings, though they still maintain positions within the top 12.

Meanwhile, new entrants and former senators are steadily gaining ground in public perception. Notably, undecided voters are on the rise, reflecting voters hesitant to decide whether they are pro-administration or pro-opposition.

The independent, non-commissioned survey selected the respondents based on a market research panel of over 200,000 registered Filipino voters maintained by the Singapore office of PureSpectrum, a US-based panel marketplace with multinational presence.
