BI orders deportation of rowdy Russian man

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) ordered the deportation of a Russian who was arrested for being an undesirable and overstaying alien.

The rowdy Russian man, identified as Andrei Umanskii, was apprehended following an order from the BI’s Board of Commissioners for his expulsion from the country, according to BI intelligence chief Fortunato Manahan Jr.

He was ordered deported in 2023 after the BI’s board of commissioners found him to be overstaying for more than 3 years.

Umanskii has previously made headlines on two separate occasions in Palawan for his involvement in altercations. In 2020, he was arrested in El Nido for resisting and disobeying persons in authority after local officials reported that he was drunk and violent in their barangay and, in 2022, assaulted a tricycle driver in Puerto Princesa.

The bureau issued a warning to all foreign nationals, urging them to respect and follow the laws of the Philippines.

“Foreign nationals should be mindful of their behavior and adhere to our regulations. We will not tolerate any actions that disrupt the peace and safety of our communities,” he added.
