The Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on consumer education and advocacy with the Safety Network Community Riders (SNCR) aimed at bolstering consumer protection.
DTI Region 2 provincial director Michael Paggabao and SNCR president Melvin Jake Pablo Umaya led the signing of the agreement.
Aligned with the DTI’s goal to empower and safeguard consumers, this collaboration will champion access to safe and reliable products, fair pricing, accurate consumer information, and effective complaint resolution systems.
It will also ensure that business establishments progressively adopt ethical and consumer-friendly policies.
“This partnership is a testament to our shared commitment to consumer welfare,” said Paggabao.
“By working hand in hand with SNCR, we can expand the reach of our consumer education programs and create a more informed and empowered consumer base in the region,” he said
Umaya also shared the upcoming activities of their organization and ensured of their commitment to the MOA.
The MOA signing was witnessed by DTI-R2 consumer protection division chief Rowena Mayangat, SNCR adviser Jun de Guzman, STIDS Aimee Garcia and the other members and officers of the SNCR.
