Chiang Kai Shek College’s track and field oval at its new Southmont campus in Silang, Cavite was awarded Class 2 certification by the World Athletics Certification System until 2028.
The recognition places the institution among only three facilities in the Philippines with such certification and distinguishes it as the only privately-owned one.
The Class 2 certification confirms that the CKS College track and field oval adheres to the stringent standards set by World Athletics, allowing it to host international competitions with any records set being globally recognized.
“This achievement underscores CKS College’s commitment to excellence in sports and athletics. This is a significant milestone for both the school and the Chinese-Filipino community, reflecting our dedication to developing athletic talent.” the college said.
The world-class facility is expected to be instrumental in nurturing future athletes and providing a platform for them to achieve their highest potential.
World Athletics is the international governing body for athletics, overseeing track and field, cross country running, road running, race walking, mountain running and ultra running. It standardizes rules and regulations, certifies athletic facilities, manages world records and organizes athletic events.
