Disposing a worn out Philippine flag

The Imus City government and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines have burned a worn-out flag on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the National Flag Shrine and Imus Heritage Park in Brgy. Alapan, Imus, a day before the 126th Independence Day celebration. Under Republic Act No. 8491, also known as the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines, a flag worn out through wear and tear should not be thrown away, and burned instead to prevent misuse or desecration.
