More than 31k jobs offered to Pinoy workers

More than 31,000 job opportunities from local and overseas will be offered to Filipino jobseekers on June 12, Independence Day, to be held in several malls in Metro Manila, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said.

The DOLE said it is inviting applicants to take advantage of the local and overseas vacancies offered by over 500 employers participating in the job fairs across 10 cities in Metro Manila.

Among the identified job fair sites are SM Grand Central (Caloocan City); SM Center Las Piñas and Robinsons Place (Las Piñas); SM Megamall (Mandaluyong); SM City Manila (Manila); SM City Marikina (Marikina); Parañaque City Social Hall and Sports Complex (Parañaque City); SM Mall of Asia (Pasay City); SM East Ortigas (Pasig City); SM Fairview (Quezon City); and Vista Mall (Taguig City).  

Job seekers are encouraged to be ready with their application requirements, such as resume or curriculum vitae, diploma, transcript of records, and certificate of employment for those formerly employed.

Meanwhile, those interested in pursuing skills training may visit the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s advisory and information desks. Skills demonstrations will also be conducted in select job fair sites. 

A one-stop-shop of government services will also be available for job seekers. Those who want to process their pre-employment documents may avail of the services to be offered by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Pag-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth, Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Postal Corporation (PhilPost), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and Social Security System (SSS).

The DOLE will mount job fairs across the regions in celebration of the 126th anniversary of the Philippine Independence on June 12.
