Vertiv, a global provider of critical digital infrastructure based in the United States, is banking on the skills of Filipinos as it expands its footprint in the Philippines.

Vertiv Global Regional Operations Center’s general manager David Yao.

“The choice to increase this team reflects on the strong skill set of the Filipino workforce. Here at Vertiv Manila, we are proud to be ‘glocal.’ Not only do we cater to Philippine customers through Vertiv Philippines, but we also work with key stakeholders and customers across the regions of Asia Pacific, North America, and Europe,” said Vertiv Global Regional Operations Center’s general manager David Yao.

Currently, Vertiv said it has 1,200 full-time employees in the Philippines. This is a 42-percent increase from the size of its workforce during the pandemic when they only had 700 employees.

This increase in the firm’s headcount, he said, can be attributed to its investment in expansion post-pandemic. Vertiv’s business also grew by 30% from last year due to the influx of business centers.

Moving forward, Cheryl Lim, chief human resource officer at Vertiv, said that the firm intends to hire more Filipinos as they have experienced the biggest growth in the Philippines among countries in Southeast Asia.

“The Philippines is a very high-skilled, reliable workforce. We anticipate our business will continue to grow. As that happens, yes, we anticipate expanding further and hiring more,” she said.

The Great Place to Work-certified company also recently unveiled its new office and customer experience center at SM Mega Tower in Mandaluyong City, right in the middle of the central business district.

Spanning over 8,000 square feet across four floors, it features modern amenities such as focus areas, wellness rooms, flexible workspaces, and an open office concept that allows employees with an environment that encourages productivity and collaboration. Guided by the technical experts, customers can also get a glimpse of their products and try technologies like the Oculus Meta Quest 2.

“Our culture is powered by our people,” Yao added. “In terms of the design philosophy, our employees are at the forefront of every decision we make. We all know how unpleasant it is to commute so our goal here is that once you get in—we want to energize you and we want to inspire you.”

The digital infrastructure provider serves more than 2,000 clients in telecommunications and business processing outsourcing in the country.
