Southwesterly windflow partly influenced by typhoon “Aghon” will bring moderate to heavy rains over Northern Palawan, Lubang Islands, Bataan, Zambales and Pangasinan on Friday (May 30), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA reported that “under these conditions, flooding and rain-induced landslides are likely, especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps and in areas with significant antecedent rainfall.”

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take precautionary measures to protect life and property.

Based on its 5:00 PM advisory on Wednesday (May 29), PAGASA said “Aghon” is now outside the Philippine area of responsibility. But it will still continue to affect the southwesterly windflow.

The typhoon was tracked moving generally northeastward over the sea area south of Japan.
