SOME 600 cameramen, production assistants, reporters, and newscasters of the state-run television station People’s Television Network are now be eligible for social security coverage and protection under the KaSSSangga Collect program.
Social Security System president and chief executive officer Rolando Macasaet and PTV general manager Analisa Puod have signed an agreement viewed as a “historic partnership to mark a significant step” toward providing SSS benefits to casual workers of the PTV.
Macasaet commended Puod and other PTV officials for registering their employees on job order (JO) status to become SSS members.
“We laud the initiative of PTV to help their job order workers secure their future and prepare for their retirement by becoming SSS members. We thanked PTV for allowing their JO workers to get the social security protection they deserve,” he said.
The SSS official appealed to other government agencies and local government units to follow the example set by the PTV’s leadership.
“We encourage you to take the necessary steps to secure the future of each of your fellow government workers, especially your job order workers, through SSS membership. Let’s work together to ensure the welfare of our workers,” he noted.
