SM Foundation rolls out KSK in 2 Bataan towns

SM Foundation Inc., the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of the mall chain, presses its commitment to help develop and empower communities as it rolls out the “Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK)” program on sustainable agriculture in the towns of Abucay and Samal in Bataan.

The initiative, which aims to enhance the livelihood of the less fortunate residents of the two municipalities through sustainable farming practices, was officially launched at the SM City Bataan Event Center on Thursday.

Some 130 farmers from the two towns are participating in the program. 

Present at the launch were SM Foundation assistant vice president for livelihood and outreach programs Cristie Angeles and representatives from various partner government agencies such as the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Agriculture, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, and the Department of Labor and Employment, “This initiative is not just a partnership as well as  a witness to the power of cooperation and collective efforts in improving communities. Through SM Foundation KSK  program, we aim to bring modern and sustainable farming skills to  both rural and urban communities,” said SM City Bataan assistant mall manager  Marbie Kaneko.
