The United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) inaugurated an office for its vice president and Central Mindanao operations in an event attended by party president Ahod ‘Al Haj Murad’ Ebrahim in Cotabato City on April 28.
At the ceremony, UBJP secretary-general Abdulraof ‘Sammy Al Mansoor’ Macacua said any political movement “should be guided by Islamic principles.” He added that personal animosity “is not a license to defame fellow political members or others.”
Ebrahim graced the inauguration together with UBJP Vice President for Central Mindanao, Education Minister and Member of Parliament Mohagher Iqbal.
Iqbal said the core principles of the UBJP centers on moral governance, a servant concept of leadership, empowerment of the people, commitment to party loyalty, as well as efforts towards transformation and reform in the Bangsamoro homeland.
Ebrahim, in his keynote speech, stressed on the concept of justice, and highlighted its significance as a shared aspiration for all.
“Justice, translated into moral governance, embodies the essence of our struggle,” the UBJP president said. “We advocate for a government owned by the people, where services are equitable and accessible to all,” he added.
UBJP is the official political party formed in 2014 by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). The revolutionary group has been fighting for the right to self-determination by the Moro people in Mindanao since 1972. The UBJP represents this struggle in the BAlso present at the event were other high-ranking officials of the UBJP, members of the Bangsamoro Parliament, and local government representatives.
