During its launch, the airline firm said it is set to connect mainland BARMM to its island provinces.

Bangsamoro Airways will initially fly to Zamboanga City and Sulu Province, catering to six and 10 passengers, respectively (including the aviators).

The airline firm further said it expects to extend its services to the municipalities of Sibutu and Mapun in Tawi-Tawi after three months of operation, as well as Malaysia’s Kota Kinabalu after a year.

Bangsamoro Airways aims “to make the provision of significant services accessible, strengthen bureaucracy and logistics, and bolster the region’s economy, tourism, and employment, among others.”

Bangsamoro Board of Investments (BBOI) chairperson Mohammad Pasigan earlier said the airline’s opening will bring more investors to BARMM and lead to continuous growth in investments.

The autonomous region recorded a total of P3.7 billion of investments in the current fiscal year as of April 2024, based on the BBOI’s report. This already surpasses the office’s 2024 target of P2.6 billion, officials said.
