Bataan First District Board Member Tony Roman is urging campus journalists “to seek and tell the truth.”
Roman, speaking at the recent Division School Press Conference in Bataan said being a journalist means being a “truth-teller.”
“But before you become a truth-teller, you must first become a truth-seeker,” Roman also told student journalists participating the said conference.
Roman was the guest speaker at the annual province-wide school press competition, representing his sister Bataan First District Congresswoman Geraldine Roman.
Roman shared that as a lawyer, a content creator, and a public servant, he always endeavors to be on the side of truth, which is what journalists should aim for.
He also urged campus journalists to improve their craft by continually reading and writing in the hopes of becoming better. Roman further shared that once upon a time, he was also a campus journalist.
