For the first time since the Miss Universe began in 1952, Saudi Arabia is officially joining the pageant with its representative, 27-year-old Rumy Al-Qahtani.
On Instagram, Al-Qahtani shared the exciting news: “Honored to participate in Miss Universe 2024.”

“This is the first participation of Saudi Arabia in the Miss Universe competition.”
Al-Qahtani was also the kingdom’s first representative in the Miss & Mrs Global Asian beauty pageant in Malaysia in February.
She will join other delegates in Mexico for the 73rd Miss Universe pageant.
Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua is the reigning Miss Universe queen.
