Have dinner, meet the President. That’s just what happened for some members of the Filipino community who managed to press the flesh with President Marcos upon his arrival in Melbourne, Australia on Sunday evening.

The President and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos ran into the kababayans as they were having a late dinner at a restaurant.

‘’Ran into some kababayans there! A great start to our trip,’’ Mr. Marcos said in a photo where he, the First Lady, and Speaker Martin Romualdez were seen chatting with a Filipino family.

Marcos gave out more handshakes with the Filipino community at the Melbourne Town Hall at the sidelines of the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit on Monday night.

An estimated 408,000 Filipinos and Australians of Filipino descent live in Australia, making them the fifth largest migrant community Down Under.
