NLEX Corporation announces the successful installation of the first girder on the Candaba 3rd Viaduct, marking the halfway point of the project. With a completion target of November 2024, this achievement signals a pivotal shift from groundwork-heavy construction to road-level work, reducing the project’s reliance on ground access and enabling construction to proceed regardless of weather conditions.
The installation of the first girder coincides with another significant accomplishment for the project: the attainment of one million safe manhours. This milestone reflects the project’s adherence to a culture of safety and the creation of a conducive work environment throughout the construction of the Candaba 3rd Viaduct.
Spanning a distance of five kilometers, the Candaba 3rd Viaduct Project is located between two existing bridges that connect the towns of Pulilan, Bulacan, and Apalit, Pampanga. Once completed, the Candaba Viaduct will be expanded to three lanes, with inner and outer shoulders in each direction, enhancing safety and improving mobility for motorists.
