Actress Mariel Rodriguez apologized on Sunday for getting an intravenous drip inside the Senate office of her husband, but said it was not glutathione but Vitamin C.
“I never had any intention to tarnish or destroy the integrity and dignity of the Senate. I want to express my heartfelt apology to everyone involved, including the members and staff of the Senate and the public. We uphold the dignity and integrity of the Senate,” the actress said.
“Just to clarify, I received a Vitamin C Drip, not Glutathione, under the medical supervision of a professional nurse,” she added.
Senator Robin Padilla earlier said he found it funny that some netizens criticized his wife for having her IV drip session inside his office.
The actress earlier posted photos on Instagram of her IV drip therapy but removed them after getting much flak on social media.
Senator Nancy Binay said the incident should be investigated further due to its implications on the Senate’s integrity as well as health and safety concerns.
